What is a Pinch Valve?

A pinch valve is a flexible control valve that regulates or stops the flow of fluids by pinching a rubber or elastomer sleeve. Because of its simple design, it is ideal for handling slurries, granular materials, and corrosive liquids. In many industries, the pinch valve is preferred for its ability to provide a tight shut-off without contact between the process fluid and mechanical parts. Pinch Valve Function

The main function of a pinch valve is to control the flow rate through the compression of an internal sleeve. When air or mechanical pressure is applied, the sleeve collapses, blocking the flow path. When the pressure is released, the sleeve returns to its open shape, allowing normal flow. Furthermore, this mechanism enables precise throttling and full shut-off capability, depending on process requirements.
